Business model

Veterans Adventure of a Lifetime: Off-Road itself does not provide services directly to veterans, with the exception of those who are selected by the Special Forces Foundation to participate on the military side of the event. Finances for the event will be divided into two areas: sponsorships, and donations.

Sponsorships go directly to support the mission itself. The logistics of preparing, mobilizing (shipping), supporting up to eight side by side vehicles across nearly 6,000 miles in 22 days, and then demobilizing are expensive. Sponsorships may be general with no direct event participation, or ride-along sponsorships, where a portion of the sponsorship will be considered tax deductible; the remaining portion of the ride-along sponsorship is a transportation and per diem charge. Excess sponsorship funds will be treated as donations.

A portion of excess sponsorship funds may be retained as seed money for next year’s event. The remainder will be treated as donations.
